DECATUR – A Decatur man faces first-degree murder charges in the death of a 2-year-old central Illinois boy.

Twenty-eight-year-old Manuel Gonzales is being held on $1 million bond after being arraigned on Thursday in the death of Dominic Bradley, who died in late December.

Authorities say Gonzales was dating Bradley's mother, who's also facing charges.

They say Gonzales was babysitting Bradley and three other children when he slammed Dominic into a wall after the boy wouldn't stop jumping on a bed.

Gonzales admitted the force was so great the boy's head dented the wall. An autopsy showed Dominic died from blunt force trauma to the head. He also had numerous bruises on his body.

It was unclear if Gonzales had an attorney. He's set to appear in court again on Jan. 22.
