CRYSTAL LAKE – Motorists are urged to drive slow during the evening commute, as the rainfall Friday is causing icy and slick road conditions.

The McHenry County Sheriff's office announced that the rainfall is causing icy conditions and standing water along the roadways. Drivers should use caution, slow down and allow for more stopping distance.

Area dispatchers have already reported that numerous cars have been sliding off roadways and into ditches.
