Obama gets a pass

To the Editor:

Isn’t it interesting that the same media that gave President Obama a pass when he claimed to have no knowledge of the IRS, NSA, Benghazi and other scandals, not to mention the initial problems with the Affordable Care Act website, have wasted no time in criticizing New Jersey Gov. Christie for not knowing what his aides were up to.

They have deemed his apology insincere. They have called him a liar. They have called for his resignation. They consider him unfit to be president. Perhaps it’s because at least 80 percent of the journalists in this country vote Democrat, and Christie is a Republican.

Apparently some things never change. Ever since his first run for the presidency, the media have refused to criticize Obama or hold him accountable for any actions he has taken. And he refuses to accept any blame. The arrogance of the man knows no limits.

Remember Harry Truman’s comment that “the buck stops here?” How refreshing it would be today to have a president who accepted responsibility for things that happened on his watch, and was as interested in governing the country as he is in campaigning and giving speeches.

I’m fairly certain that that will never happen with the man presently residing in the White House.
