CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — A former Illinois women's track and field athlete will be on the U.S. Olympic bobsled team.

Aja Evans has been officially selected to the team that will compete next month at the Sochi Olympics.

Evans was a five-time All-American and three-time Big Ten champion while she was with the Illini. She was a sprinter and field thrower, but switched to bobsledding in March 2012.

The Sochi Games will be Evans' first appearance at the Olympics.
