Animal shelter launches Heart for Paws

WOODSTOCK – Helping Paws Animal Shelter will partner with local businesses this month for its Have a Heart for Paws fundraising campaign.

Donors of $1 or more will write their name on a paw print that will be displayed at the business. All proceeds will got to Helping Paws Animal Shelter in Woodstock.

The following businesses are participating:

• Read Between the Lynes,129 W. Van Buren St., Woodstock.

• Nature's Balance Acupuncture, 820 E. Terra Cotta Ave, Suite 101, Crystal Lake.

• Thomas' Tails, 31 E. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake.

• Camp Bow Wow, 3107 Route 120, McHenry.

• Nature's Feed, 2440 Westward Drive, Spring Grove.

Donations also can be made at the shelter, 500 Harding Lane, Woodstock.

The fundraiser was the idea of Dorothy Vetrovec, owner of Nature’s Feed and long-time supporter of Helping Paws.

Helping Paws Animal Shelter is a no-kill animal shelter for stray and abandoned dogs and cats in McHenry County and surrounding areas.

Shelter and adoption hours are Monday through Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday until 7 p.m.
