CRYSTAL LAKE – BCU, the fourth largest credit union in the state, is providing $25,000 in financial support to Sage YMCA’s renovation and expansion project.

Plans have been developed to expand the facility from 29,000 square feet to 71,000 square feet. The renovated facility will have improved child care facilities, a family locker room and expanded fitness facilities. The aquatics facilities will include a competition pool with viewing area.

“Our community needs a gathering place where children learn important life skills like swimming and teamwork, where young families meet and make friends, where teens and adults develop the skills and relationships they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure,” Sage YMCA Executive Director Robyn Ostrem said in a news release. “The Sage Y is this place – a destination that will serve the children and families of McHenry County for years to come.”

BCU will make its second donation in July.
