UNION – The one-room schoolhouse at the McHenry County Historical Society and Museum is in need of a teacher.

The historical society is looking for volunteers – including retired teachers, historical re-enactors and theater majors – to guide students through the original country school as well as the 1847 Gannon log cabin and the 1870 historical museum.

Training is provided, and the time commitment varies.

Retired teacher and former historical society administrator Nancy Fike and veteran docent and past board member Jane Dahm will lead a free training session at 1 p.m. Feb. 25 at the museum, 6422 Main St. in Union.

Registration is requested but not required.

For information or to register, call 815-923-2267 or email info@mchsonline.org.
