Good people, good deeds

To the Editor:

Too often we use letters to the editor (or any nearby set of ears) to monologue about what’s wrong with our community or world.

Not today. I’m using it to cheer for what’s right, namely that good people still do good deeds every day.

I got fantastic help at the Crystal Lake Ace Hardware from an employee named Justin. I’ll spare the details, but he went so far above and beyond the normal role of store employee. Did he have to? Not at all. Did he accept my cash tip? Nope.

When I encounter people such as Justin, it restores my faith in our community and makes me want to pay it forward and lend a hand to the next person who needs one.
