Can you help?

To the Editor:

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) would like you to put your experience to work.

We are asking you to apply the skills and wisdom you’ve acquired throughout your life to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

RSVP members are those who are age 55 or older and willing to consider assignments that are scheduled weekly or one-time assignments such as mailings or registering donors for local blood drives.

You choose how and where you want to serve, how much time you want to give and whether you want to share skills you have or develop new ones.

Our program currently has a membership of over 900 volunteers who give time to 100 locations. Last year, RSVP members throughout Kane, Kendall and McHenry counties dedicated 121,000 hours of service as they delivered meals to homebound seniors, helped veterans and others with rides to doctors and other necessary appointments, and worked at local food pantries, as well as many other volunteer projects.

If you are interested in joining this active group, please contact me at 815-344-3555 or email me at ddanitz@seniorservicesassoc.org. RSVP is sponsored by Senior Services Associates Inc.
