McHenry County College to present music faculty recital

CRYSTAL LAKE – The music faculty at McHenry County College will present the third annual MCC music faculty recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, featuring vocals, piano, a violin and jazz piano trio and euphonium music.

The concert will be in the Luecht Conference Center at MCC, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

Featured faculty performers will include: Steven Szalaj, tenor vocalist; Russ Henning, French horn; Janet Kvam-Holub, violin; Tara Singer, piano and vocals, with Chris Ray, bass, and Joe Varhula, drums; Michael Hillstrom, piano and vocals; Julie Wilson, piano; and Paige Lush, Ph.D., euphonium. A reception will follow the concert.

The following Second Sunday and other MCC concerts are free and at 3 p.m. in the conference center unless otherwise noted: Winds Off the Lake, March 9; St. Patrick’s Day Concert with Pat Gaughan and L.J. Slavin, 7 p.m. March 12; Sessions Jazz Quartet, April 13; MCC Jazz Concert, 7 p.m. April 23; MCC Concert Band and Chorus, April 27; and MCC Student Recital, 6 p.m. May 4.
