McHENRY – Superior Felt & Filtration will be moving to a new facility at 1150 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, as part of a planned expansion.

The move allows the Ingleside company, which makes nonwoven textiles, to relocate its corporate offices, manufacturing and distribution divisions all under one roof.

“With this move, our goal is to continue to streamline the ability to provide our growing customer base with high quality and great customer service,” Director of Sales Frank Porto said in a news release.

Fabrication work is expected to begin at the new facility by the end of March. The company should complete the move by June 1, Porto said.

Superior Felt & Filtration, which has about 60 employees, manufacturers nonwoven textiles for the medical, industrial, hygienic, cosmetic, automotive, filtration, decorative and appliance industries. The company also offers services such as adhesive coating, die cutting, slitting, packaging and printing. It is an ISO 9001 company.

The McHenry facility is a 75,000-square-foot building on 13 acres, according to a news release from Entre Commercial Realty LLC. Superior plans to double its size, adding another 75,000 square feet of building space, in the next three years, Porto said.

“We’ll also be expanding our workforce in the area,” he said.

Superior Felt & Filtration will maintain its environmentally controlled white room fabrication for the high-efficiency filtration markets. This includes life-saving medical filtration applications.

The building was previously occupied by Chirch Global Manufacturing. It was sold for about $2.5 million, said Dan Benassi of Entre Commercial Realty.
