Dinner to honor retiring Harvard coach Haak

Harvard High School will host an event for retiring coach and teacher Tim Haak at 7 p.m. April 5 at the Harvard Moose Lodge.

The Tim Haak Wrestling Appreciation Dinner costs $12 a person and will celebrate Haak’s illustrious career, which covers 27 seasons as the Hornets’ wrestling coach.

The Women of the Moose will serve the dinner. People who wish to buy tickets can do so by email at harvardwrestling@gmail.com. Mike Vest, Neil Schultz and Mark Schuring will be selling the tickets.

Haak is retiring after a long career as physical education teacher and football and wrestling coach. His football team was 11-1 in the fall and advanced to the Class 4A playoff quarterfinals. He was head football coach for 29 years and has been head wrestling coach for 27 seasons.
