CARPENTERSVILLE - A Carpentersville family was displaced Monday night after a fire started in their attic.

Around 11:30 p.m. Carpentersville firefighters responded to a fire in the 300 block of Tee Lane. Six people were displaced after the home was deemed uninhabitable, according to Carpentersville Fire Department Battalion Chief Bob Beattie.

The fire, which was believed to have started in the attic, was under control in 15 minutes, Beattie said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire caused approximately $50,000 in damage, he said.

No one was injured in the blaze.

Firefighters from East Dundee, West Dundee, Rutland-Dundee and Algonquin assisted on the call.
