MCC to offer APICS certification prep courses

McHENRY – McHenry County College’s Workforce, Community and Business Programs department is offering APICS Certified Production and Inventory Management certification preparation courses next month.

The Master Planning of Resources course is from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 1 through April 22 at the Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane, McHenry.

This series will be facilitated by Marty Gartner, a certified APICS instructor with more than 30 years of materials, supply chain and project management experience.

The Master Planning of Resources module explores processes used to develop sales and operations plans. Participants will learn to identify and assess internal and external demands and forecasting requirements.

The course focuses on the importance of producing achievable master schedules that are consistent with business policies, objectives and resource constraints.

The course fee is $865. Additional certification preparation courses include the Basics of Supply Chain Management, also in April; Detailed Scheduling and Planning, in June; Execution and Control of Operations, in September; and Strategic Management of Resources, in November. All of the courses have a half-day of test preparation included in the schedule.
