To the Editor:
Since we have no dog in the McHenry County sheriff’s race and we previously have supported candidates who seem to be aligning on either side of this contest, we have worked hard to make an informed and quality voting decision.
We began leaning toward Zinke because he has conducted a positive campaign, highlighting his outstanding credentials and experience. Also, we experienced responsive and very professional service from the sheriff’s office under his senior leadership in the few times we have required direct interaction.
Any doubt we had was eliminated with the latest mudslinging attack by the Prim campaign only one week before the election. This activity is typical of the worst of Illinois politics.
We will be voting for Zinke. He is clearly the most qualified and honorable candidate.
