FOX LAKE – General Motors has named Ray Chevrolet, 39 N. Route 12, Fox Lake, as one of its Dealers of the Year.

It is the first time Ray Chevrolet has been recognized with this honor by GM, according to a news release from the Fox Lake dealership. The honor is given to 2 percent of Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers in the region.

To receive the recognition, dealers must be top performers in sales and customer service. Dealers also need to show a commitment to these areas on a long-term basis by retaining and providing customers with service using GM parts.

“We are honored to hold this prestigious award. I want to thank all of our wonderful customers. We could not have done this without them,” Ray Chevrolet President Ray Scarpelli said in a statement. “This award reflects what our loyal customers already know firsthand – that Ray Chevrolet aims to provide the best Chevrolet shopping, service and ownership experience available anywhere.”

Another qualification that helped Ray Chevrolet earn the award is the high number of dealership employees who have passed through training courses and earned GM certifications, according to the news release.

GM has recognized dealerships in the U.S. with the Dealer of the Year Award since 2000.
