Woodstock teen charged with burglary
WOODSTOCK – An 18-year-old Woodstock man was charged with breaking into a liquor store and stealing alcohol and cigarettes.
Anthony T. Lemke, a transient Woodstock resident, was charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony, and criminal damage to property, a class A misdemeanor.
Woodstock police have tentatively identified and are searching for a second person potentially involved with the burglary at the Quick Beverage Mart, 991 McConnell Road.
Police responded to the liquor store at 1:06 a.m. Monday, March 17, following the burglary, an investigation showed that two people had entered the closed business by throwing an object through a window and then took numerous bottles of liquor and cartons of cigarettes, according to a news release.
Based on images from a surveillance video, Lemke was developed as a suspect and subsequently arrested on March 23.
He was released March 26 from the McHenry County Jail on a personal recognizance bond. He is due back in court at 9 a.m. April 16.
