WOODSTOCK – A McHenry County prosecutor said Terrill Thomas posed as a younger man online and planned to meet a Cary girl for sex.

Thomas, 30, of Arlington Heights, pleaded guilty Thursday to indecent solicitation of a minor. He was sentenced to three years in prison as part of a plea agreement accepted by Judge Gordon Graham.

The girl was 16 at the time, police have said.

Thomas remains free on the bond posted shortly after his November 2013 arrest. He was not immediately remanded because he's scheduled to appear in Cook County court on Friday and is expected to enter a plea deal there. He's charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault in Cook County for an alleged sexual encounter with a different female.

He faces three to seven years in prison on the Cook County charge and it's expected he will be sentenced to three years there. His local sentence will run consecutive to any imposed in Cook County.

An additional local charge of traveling to meet a minor was dropped as part of the deal.

Thomas will have to register as a sex offender.
