WOODSTOCK – An Elgin man was charged with felony sexual assault for an incident at a Woodstock motel, Woodstock police said.

Timothy E. Levis, 54, 618 Wellington Ave., Elgin, was charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault, a class 1 felony, and remains at the McHenry County Jail with bond set at $100,000.

Woodstock police responded at 9:58 a.m. Sunday to the Super 8 Motel, 1220 Davis Road, to a report from motel management who had received complaints of loud arguing coming from Levis' rented room, according to a news release.

Motel staff had met with Levis and a 25-year-old woman at the room and after noting suspicious behavior from both, called police, the release said.

When police arrived, the woman told police that she had been sexually assaulted during the overnight or early morning hours, the release said. She was taken to an area hospital for medical treatment and an evaluation.

The woman told police that she met Levis at a Des Plaines area establishment on the days leading up to the incident and that she accompanied Levis back to his room during the afternoon Saturday, the release said.

The man had left the motel on foot and was picked up a short time later walking in the nearby Willow Brooke Apartment Complex parking lot, the release said. He was taken to the Woodstock Police Department where he declined to speak to detectives.
