LAKE IN THE HILLS – The village's police department, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, has scheduled a drug take back day for residents to dispose of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

Residents may bring their medications for disposal on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to the police department at 1115 Crystal Lake Road, with no questions asked, according to a news release.

Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. In addition, flushing unused medication down the toilet or throwing them in the trash can pose potential safety and health hazards, the news release said.

For information, contact the Lake in the Hills Police Department at 847-658-5676.
