CRYSTAL LAKE – Community High School District 155 will welcome two new administrators next year including the current principal of Woodstock High School.

Starting July 1, Woodstock High School principal Corey Tafoya will take over as assistant superintendent of educational services for District 155 while Crystal Lake Central High School special education teacher Ed Weaver will become dean of students at Prairie Ridge High School.

Tafoya, who has been Woodstock's principal since 2005, steps in for Mark Kovack, who recently accepted an associate superintendent position with Township High School District 211.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Tafoya to the District 155 family,” said District 155 superintendent Johnnie Thomas in a press release. “His efforts at Woodstock and his track record as an educator for the past two decades make us confident that he will excel in this new role.”

Weaver has been with District 155 since 2008 and worked in case management and child welfare before joining Crystal Lake Central.

“Ed’s work as both a teacher and case manager gave him ample preparation for this role,” said Prairie Ridge principal Steven Koch of his incoming dean.
