To the Editor:
Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein ceremoniously paraded their storied résumés through 40 years of pop culture and journalistic sainthood after doggedly exposing an Oval Office cover-up culminating in the removal of a U.S. president.
Imagine my disdain searching a nationally syndicated newspaper May 2 for the latest Benghazi news only to find said story buried on page 12 beneath a chiding headline berating the GOP’s “lambasting” of the architects of this most telling foreign policy disaster.
Our nation was placed in grave danger, four brave American diplomats suffered violent deaths, and the only memorable utterance from this White House and State Department took the form of the pathetic words “what difference does it make?”
Until now, mainstream media’s malpractice, borne of an ingrained liberal bias, has sought to suppress and downplay executive branch ineptitude, malfeasance in Benghazi spun with fabricated talking points and two-bit buffoonery.
Perhaps now, in light of most recent, previously redacted email revelations of unconscionable high-level obfuscation, American citizens will eventually see justice served once again.
