McHENRY – The McHenry Area Downtown Business Association will host its second annual “Taste of Downtown” in June.

The event will be held downtown from 1 to 5 p.m. June 7.

Come with family and friends to visit and taste from 18 downtown McHenry restaurants on Riverside Drive, Green Street and Main Street.

Each will offer a taste of some of their favorite food or beverages for a nominal cost of $1 to $2. Visitors can walk block-to-block or ride the trolley provided by the City of McHenry for a sampling from each participating business. Many downtown shops also will be offering discounts and specials, according to a news release.

The event will include demonstrations and shows from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. by the Bike Haven in Veterans Memorial Park.

Chain O’ Lakes Brewing Co. plans to offer a special release beer along with the opening of its beer garden with three bands from noon to 6 p.m. There also will be a raffle to win at the downtown business association table at Veteran’s Memorial Park with multiple giveaways compliments of members.
