LAKE IN THE HILLS – A four-year-old Algonquin boy was not seriously injured when he was struck in a hit-and-run accident in the AMC Theater parking lot, a police official said.

The boy was hit while crossing one of the lanes of traffic in the parking lot of the AMC Theater, 311 N. Randall Road, with a parent just before 9 p.m. Friday, Sgt. Ted Ziarkowski said.

The vehicle fled the scene, and the child was treated and released at the scene by paramedics, he said.

Lake in the Hills police are looking for the vehicle, which is believed to be a red four-door car, perhaps a Dodge, occupied by three males in their late teens, Ziarkowski said.

Nothing has developed since Friday, he said. The department has sent out a critical reach flier to other departments with information on the car.
