To the Editor:
Finally someone (Michael Penkava, a former teacher) gets it and hits the nail on the head. So glad to wake up this morning and read his thoughts in the Northwest Herald that it’s “OK to be average” (May 23).
This should be read at every commencement speech at each high school, maybe even the colleges. Great job.
Parents and kids are missing the boat on what truly is important in life.
Again, the difference in doing our best and being the best ... and we wonder why cheating occurs at the highest levels. To get the edge? Really?
