Crystal Lake man charged with sexually abusing a child

CRYSTAL LAKE – A 41-year-old Crystal Lake man was charged Tuesday with aggravated criminal sexual abuse after allegedly sexually abusing a juvenile under age 13, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office announced.

The alleged incident occurred on or around Monday in unincorporated Crystal Lake, police said.

Chad J. Connell, of Crystal Lake, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony. He remains in McHenry County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Police did not release many details about the incident. Calls to Undersheriff Andrew Zinke for comment were not returned Tuesday. Connell will appear in court July 8.
