WOODSTOCK – Lamb Road in Woodstock reopened after crews replaced an electrical pole damaged from an elderly woman veering off the road Tuesday afternoon.

The single-vehicle accident happened shortly after noon when witnesses saw an 82-year-old Alden woman veer off Lamb Road, near the railroad tracks, and strike a pole, said Woodstock Police Deputy Chief John Lieb. A power supply box connected to the railroad was also damaged.

The woman was taken to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock for precautionary reasons and later released, he said.

The accident closed Lamb Road for nearly four hours.
