After two days of qualifying, recent Crystal Lake Central graduate Lexi Harkins made the cut Tuesday to advance to the championship flight of the Women’s Western Golf Association National Amateur Championship at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Harkins dropped 10 spots to 33rd place on the second day, finishing with a 7-over-par 79. The round, combined with her 75 Monday, gave her a 154 total. The top 64 players after two days of stroke-play qualifying advanced.
The scores from the qualifying rounds will now be erased as match play begins. Wednesday will feature the Round of 64 with Harkins facing off against August Kim of St. Augustine, Florida.
Kim was one shot better (153) than Harkins over the two qualifying rounds.
