Route 176 re-opens after gas line rupture

Eastbound Route 176, east of Route 31, is back open after a gas line rupture, according to a Nixle alert sent out by the Crystal Lake Police Department.

A natural gas line was ruptured during construction along Route 176, east of Route 31. Police, fire/rescue and utility crews were on the scene, and the gas leak has been stopped. The roadway is now open to normal traffic.
