ALGONQUIN — Two Algonquin men were arrested Friday for multiple drug charges, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

The arrests of Anthony T. Lira, 20, and Anthony M. Lira, 43, occurred during the execution of a search warrant at 1120 Fox River Drive in Algonquin, the release states.

Conducting the search were members of the McHenry County Sheriff's Police Narcotics Task Force, Illinois State Police North Central Narcotics Task Force, and Drug Enforcement Administration.

Anthony T. Lira was arrested on charges including unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had an arrest warrant for an unrelated charge of unlawful possession of marijuana. His court date is set for July 17.

Anthony M. Lira was arrested on charges including unlawful delivery of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana, violation of bail bond, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Anthony M. Lira's court date is set for 9 a.m. July 3.

The release further states deputies seized roughly 120 grams of marijuana, one digital scale, packaging materials, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

The street value of the drugs was estimated at $1,500, according to the news release.

The bonds for Anthony T. Lira and Anthony M. Lira are set at $1,500 and $5,000, respectively.
