MOLINE – Authorities in western Illinois say a Moline man has died after apparently getting electrocuted while trying to clear flood water from his basement.

The Dispatch in Moline reportedpolice found 64-year-old Michael E. Henderson's body Tuesday morning. The Rock Island County coroner says preliminary autopsy results from Wednesday show Henderson's cause of death was likely electrocution.

Investigators say they believe Henderson was trying to change a sump pump when he died. There was about 2 feet of water in his basement.

Moline police, Illinois State Police and the coroner's office are continuing to investigate the death.

Strong storms moved through Illinois on Monday evening, bringing many rivers in the western part of the state to flood levels.
