WOODSTOCK – Helping Paws Animal Shelter will sponsor an Ice Cream Social at the park on the Woodstock Square with a free concert by the Woodstock City Band.

The event will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16. The concert “Our Playlist” will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Culver’s will serve frozen custard with a variety of toppings and will donate a portion of the profits to Helping Paws.

An assortment of Jaci’s Cookies and Swiss Maid Brownies will be available for $1 each, and all of the proceeds will go to caring for and placing homeless cats and dogs.

Concertgoers may enter their names in the free drawings (no purchase necessary) for a Helping Paws T-shirt and a copy of “Cat Sense: How the New Feline Science Can Make You a Better Friend to Your Pet” by John Bradshaw or “Decoding Your Dog” by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists.

The winning tickets will be drawn at the intermission, or about 8 p.m.
