Algonquin police deputy chief to retire

ALGONQUIN – Deputy Police Chief Steven Kuzynowski is set to retire Oct. 31, the village of Algonquin announced in a news release.

Kuzynowski has been with the village's police department since March 1983, and has served as deputy chief of operations, patrol sergeant, K-9 unit supervisor, a detective and patrol officer.

He is currently the deputy chief of administration. Kuzynowski also is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

In the news release, the village said "Kuzynowski served ... with dedication, honor and compassion. [He] earned respect from all for his personal leadership style."
