The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for northern McHenry County until 11 p.m.

The weather service said there is a slow-moving thunderstorm with very heavy rainfall moving south from Wisconsin.

Runoff from the excessive rain is expected to cause minor flooding, especially along small streams and low-water crossings, the advisory said. There also maybe ponds of water on roads.
