Randall Road reality?

Published: Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

I have traveled through the Randall/Algonquin roads intersection during the morning and afternoon rush hours, five days a week, for the past 35 years. Weekend days also are not unfamiliar to me.

I am all for improving the traffic flow through this intersection, but I must ask: At what cost to the taxpayer? Personally, I feel I am taxed to death as it is living here in McHenry County.

Adding a right-hand turn lane to the southbound Randall Road traffic and tweaking the traffic light sequence during the morning and afternoon rush hours may just do the trick, and at a mere fraction of the costs that are currently being bandied about.

I would urge everyone who cares about their tax bills to contact their County Board representatives to get some hard costs for this project, before it’s too late.
