Congrats, Jacob

To the Editor:

Having watched Jacob Goebbert grow up in the Hampshire community, it is great to see such a wonderful young man having such great success.

The entire Goebbert family are wonderful people. Success has not changed Jacob. If anything, it has made him more humble and gracious. When Jacob was in Double-A, his team would make a trip to Little Rock, Arkansas.

We always tried to make it to a game when he was in town. He always took the time to visit with us before and/or after the game. He even signed a baseball and gave a pair of batting gloves to my grandson.

I wish Jacob nothing but the best and continued success at the Major League level. It’s good to know it’s possible for professional athletes to carry themselves with class and humility.

Jacob will be a wonderful role model, and he represents Hampshire in magnificent fashion. Good luck, Jacob.
