Questions on my mind

To the Editor:

When my wife and I emigrated to the U.S., we had an American citizen sponsor us, guaranty a job, a place to live and no welfare.

We also had a medical exam with an X-ray and all the immunization shots. Over the years, my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren had the immunization shots or were banned by law from school.

Lately, thousands of children are streaming across the border without the scrutiny we had to go through. Any and all illegal immigrants can go to any hospital emergency room and ask for or demand treatment. But not our U.S. veterans. They have to go to a VA hospital and wait up to 100 or more days. Some veterans die before they get any treatment.

Why can’t our veterans go to any hospital emergency room and receive medical treatment? Why not, Mr. President, senator and representative? Why not, America? Does anybody know?

From what I see and hear on TV, nobody knows, nobody is responsible and nobody is guilty. America, do you like to know who is killing our veterans? I surely would like to know.

What would happen if we exchange two words – American veterans with African Americans?

Another thing I see and hear on TV: Conservatives – old people – are called racist, sexist and homophobes. I hope I become a minority soon so I can call other people names.

Do you know what the saying “political correctness” is? It is an oxymoron.
