Soccer roundup: Crystal Lake South beats Marengo

Andrew Grabowski scored three goals and had an assist to lead the Crystal Lake South boys soccer team to an 8-0 victory over Marengo in nonconference play at Marengo.

Ben Nyman was one of five other players to score for the Gators (1-0) in their season opener. Nyman added an assist and Dalton Kause and Spencer Traub combined for the shutout. 

Nick Ohlinger made 20 saves for the Indians (0-2). 

Belvidere 1, McHenry 0: At McHenry, the Warriors (1-1) gave up a first-half goal in their nonconference loss. Jake King made five saves for McHenry. 

Wauconda 2, Woodstock 0: At Woodstock, the Blue Streaks (1-1) fell in nonconference play, despite out shooting their opponents 15-11. Jose Guardado made seven saves for Woodstock.
