Boys Soccer Roundup: Crystal Lake South shuts out CL Central

At Crystal Lake, Nick Getzinger scored two first-half goals to lead Crystal Lake South to a 4-0 Fox Valley Conference crossover win against Crystal Lake Central on Thursday.

Andrew Grabowski scored late in the first half for South (2-0), and Jake Canfield added the team's fourth goal after the break. Dalton Kause recorded two saves for the Gators, while Patrick Kinahan made four stops for the Tigers (0-2).

Charles Ruff had two assists in the win.

McHenry 1, Rockford Jefferson 1: At Rockford, Josh Burr scored in the first half for the Warriors in a nonconference draw. Richie Boettcher made five saves in goal for McHenry (1-1).

Johnsburg 9, North Boone 0: At Poplar Grove, the Skyhawks exploded for nine goals in a Big Northern Conference East Division win. Will Conroy scored twice for Johnsburg (1-0, 1-0 BNC East), while Todd Dombrowski, Mark Guera, Mike Rackow, Nick Whiting, Dean Wiersum, Warren Nusser and A.J. Meland added single tallies.

St. Edward 5, Hampshire 1: At Hampshire, Peter Panagakos scored for the Whip-Purs (0-2) in a nonconference loss.

Genoa-Kingston 4, Marengo 2: At Genoa, the Indians (0-2, 0-1) trailed by three goals at half and lost to Genoa-Kingston in the BNC East match. Jesse Ramirez and George Herrera scored goals for Marengo.

Lake Park Invitational: At Lake Park, Huntley lost to Lake Park, 4-1. Angel Sanchez scored in the 76th minute for the Red Raiders (0-1-1), and Michael Park made five saves.

Cougar Classic: At Vernon Hills, Grayslake Central defeated Woodstock North, 3-1. Ricky Rodriguez made 18 saves for the Thunder (1-3) in the loss.

Grayslake North Invitational: At Grayslake, Richmond-Burton lost to Ridgewood, 3-0, in the tournament game. Luis Perez made 16 saves for the Rockets (0-2).

Prospect 2, Jacobs 1: At Mount Prospect, Jacobs got its lone goal from Chris Rigby in the first half of a nonconference loss. Ethan Pickering made eight saves for the Golden Eagles (0-1).
