Former Holiday Hills cop faces domestic battery charge

A former Holiday Hills police officer posted bond today for allegedly injuring a female family member’s wrist.

Troy G. Hetz, 40, of Deerfield, was previously convicted of intimidation and official misconduct for having sex with a woman on the hood of his squad car during a 1999 traffic stop. He was sentenced in February 2004 to 180 days in jail.

Now, he’s facing a domestic battery charge in connection with an incident Sunday in which police said he grabbed a family member's wrist and bent it back, causing injury.

He posted 10 percent of his $1,500 bond today His next court date is July 14.
